Services

What do we do?

We provide occupational therapy services for children and adults with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, post-concussion syndrome and a wide variety of other diagnoses that may have concerns related to visual motor skills, visual perceptual skills, balance, attention, fine motor abilities, concentration, sensory processing needs, interoceptive needs, shared regulation and so much more!

How do we do it?

After a referral is provided, you or your child will receive a comprehensive occupational therapy evaluation to determine biological and neurological concerns. A therapy pathway is then determined and goals established to meet the need of you or your child.

Testing may take 90 minutes and may include:

  • Fine Motor testing

  • Sensorimotor testing

  • Self-performance measures

  • Balance testing

  • Primitive Reflex Screening

  • Therapy Pathways

Your or your child may benefit from The Sensory Learning Program, which is is a supra-modal approach to developmental learning that unites three modalities (auditory, visual and vestibular) into one intensive treatment. Your or your child will attend therapy twice a day (once for adults) for 45 minutes for 12 days, followed by 18 days of at  home light therapy.

The second pathway includes weekly, direct occupational therapy for 45-60 minutes.

Goals?

We strive to support you or your child in developing the underlying skills to support development in areas of concern. Some benefits we have seen include better visual processing to support reading, better self regulation to decrease meltdowns and to tolerate input from the environment, better visual motor integration for increased fine motor skills and increased executive functioning.

We have now added Speech Therapy and Physical Therapy services!

Vision Therapy

Prior to starting vision therapy, Dr. Brodie completes an eye exam, which evaluates a patients eyesight that determines if

glasses or contacts are needed as well as completing a thorough evaluation of the patient's vision system to determine if any type of therapy is warranted to improve the patient's binocular vision. Many patients have great eye sight, however, have poor binocular system performance, If the team believes that the patient may benefit from skilled therapy services, the patient is

then referred to an Occupational Therapist for an evaluation.

Our team of Occupational Therapy Practitioners work together to evaluate and treat patients who have binocular system issues. This therapy provides individualized treatment designed to improve overall visual function and

performance to increase skills such as reading comprehension, visual processing, reading speed, focusing ability, visual concentration, recall and more.

Many functional vision problems can be significantly improved through vision therapy. It is a treatment modality for disorders including but not limited to:

“The most improvement that I’ve seen with Wyatt is being able to be more involved with his own treatment and therapy. When we first started, he was really shy. He didn’t really understand why we were here or what we were doing but he quickly made friends with the therapist here. They’re amazing.” - Nicole Zielger
